Anyone can go to the gym and hit the treadmill for 30 minutes to burn a couple hundred calories, but NO one can outrun their fork! The things you do and consume outside of the gym are far more important than the sweaty minutes in the gym. Food is by far the most difficult part of the health puzzle for most people. Most of us struggle with time restraints, financial restraints as well as food cravings and emotional eating. Before you hire the Personal Trainer at the gym...you should be nailing down your diet first! As a Nutritionist I guide you in the right direction and help you along the way....checking your "form" all along the way, pushing you just the right amount, but also listening and in some cases even tweaking the plan. The ultimate goal is to get you off and running on your own that way you know the basics and can do the leg work.
In the 30 Day Plan you we will discuss your diet history, any obstacles that you think will come up, your current weight/measurements, your health goals, food preferences, family life and cultural considerations as well as food budgeting.
Before the initial assessment you will do a "food journal" in which for a few days leading up to our meeting, you will write down everything you currently eat that way I know where Point A is before trying to get to Point B. From there and after our assessment, I make a one week meal plan which takes into consideration your schedule, food preferences, family size, budget and of course your calorie and macro requirements based on your goals. The plan comes complete with a shopping list and recipes, when needed. At the end of week one we meet for about 20 minutes via skype or phone call and discuss measurements, progress and what worked and what needs tweaking. I generate the next weeks plan and rinse and repeat for 4 weeks.
At the end of the 30 days you should notice a change in not only the way you feel, but also in the way you look. Change does not come easy, but hard work coupled with guidance, will always produce results!
